GIS Day Celebration 12.11.2021

On the occasion of celebration of GIS Day Celebration 2021 on 17.11.2021 a lecture cum interactive session was organized by Geospatial Skill Development Centre and Entrepreneurship Cell (GSDEC) funded by RUSA 2.0 MHRD, Department of Geography, MLSU. The resource person of the session Dr. Rakesh Paliwal, Scientist ‘SG’, RRSC-West, NRSC, ISRO, Jodhpur delivered his talk on “Applications of Geospatial Technology”. He discussed various case studies being conducted by him at RRSC including environmental modelling, site suitability analysis, Locusts movement across India, and crop discrimination using Hyperspectral data, for different areas of Rajasthan. There were around 36 participants including faculty members, students and scholars of various departments from Geography, Geology and Environment Sciences. The session was presided by Prof. C. R. Suthar, Dean, UCSSH, MLSU. Prof. Seema Jalan, Head of the Department and Coordinator of GSDEC delivered the Welcome Address. Ms. Urmi Sharma conducted the event and Dr. Sabiha Khan presented the formal vote of thanks.
